Tests are Finished!

Just thinking……..

I had to go to the hospital today for tests. Something in my body is acting up, and the doctor wanted to get to the base of it. Is it my heart? My gallbladder? Something else?

So I had to eat only fruit last night for supper, and nothing allowed after midnight. Of course, I’m not up at midnight pacing before the fridge. But when I awoke this morning, I was so hungry! And I still couldn’t eat until after the tests.

I hate to be hungry. So I packed a slice of whole wheat bread and a cheese stick and a bottle of Dannon probiotic, and set off to the hospital.

Nice surprise: none of this took too long. The paperwork went smoothly, and the tests were not bad at all. The first one was an ultrasound. The only other ultrasound I had ever had was painful. I had to drink gallons of water and then they pressed on my tummy. But that wasn’t the case here. In fact, they even heated the gel that put on me, just to make it more comfy! That test took the longest. Then I went for the EKG. That was one short little test! And it was cold in there. But now I am finished and at home.

Isn’t it amazing what modern medicine can do? I’m such a wimp about pain and being in a hospital. Not long ago, if this had happened to me, I would be in a surgery ward and doctors would be cutting me open to find the problem. Now they just wave a wand over me (OK, so this is simplistic….), and can diagnose from that. Hooray for modern medicine!

It was 41 when I went to the hospital and was 20 when I came out. Brrrr………….

To God be the glory……..
